Is Galactico free to play?

Yes, completely. Create an account, build your empire, command fleets and compete across all nine galaxies without paying anything. You only need a Solana wallet if you want to trade on-chain items or hold $GLC.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Galactico runs entirely in your browser on desktop and mobile. No client, no app, no plugins.

What kind of game is Galactico?

A browser-based space strategy MMO in the tradition of OGame. You start from a single planet, develop your economy by mining Metal, Crystal and Deuterium, research technology, build fleets, and compete with real players through raiding, espionage, alliances and the galaxy rankings.

How do I get started?

Create a free account and you'll begin on your home planet. Priority order: level up your mines, keep energy supply ahead of demand, build storage, start research, then build your first fleet. The Beginner's Guide walks through each step.

What are the three resources?

• Metal — the most abundant resource. Used in almost every building, ship and defense structure.
• Crystal — scarcer and more valuable. Critical for research and advanced technology.
• Deuterium — your fleet fuel. Every mission burns it. Also used in late-game research.

What is Star Dust?

Star Dust is Galactico's in-game soft currency — earned by playing (raids, missions, rankings) and spent on upgrades, boosts, and the in-game shop. No wallet needed. See the Star Dust Guide for full detail.

What is $GLC?

$GLC is Galactico's on-chain token on Solana. Earn it by trading rare on-chain items (Genesis Planets, named capital ships, Founders Passes) with other commanders on the open market. A burn on every trade makes the supply deflationary. See the $GLC Token Guide.

What's the difference between Star Dust and $GLC?

Star Dust is the soft currency you earn in-game and spend on everyday upgrades — no wallet required, instant, frictionless. $GLC is the on-chain Solana token for rare tradable assets and real ownership. You can play the entire game without ever touching $GLC.

Which wallet do I need for $GLC?

Is it pay-to-win?

No. Smart play — a strong economy, disciplined scouting, and well-timed raids — is what wins. $GLC is earned by trading with other players, not by paying for power.

What happens when I'm offline?

Your mines keep producing while you're logged out, up to your storage capacity. Upgrade storage before long offline sessions so production doesn't overflow. Your fleets in transit keep flying. The universe keeps running.

Can other players attack me?

Yes — this is a competitive MMO. But planetary defenses fight off attackers automatically, experienced players skip well-defended targets, and new commanders get early protections. Build a basic defense line and you'll rarely be worth attacking. See the Defense Guide.

What is espionage?

Sending Spy Probes to scout enemy planets before attacking. A spy report reveals the resources and — at higher Espionage Tech levels — the defenses and fleet of the target. Scouting before striking is the single most important habit for winning raids. See the Espionage Guide.

How many ships are there?

13 ship types: Small Cargo, Large Cargo, Colony Ship, Recycler, Spy Probe (logistics/recon), plus Light Fighter, Heavy Fighter, Cruiser, Battleship, Bomber, Destroyer, Battlecruiser, and the devastating Deathstar (combat). Full stats in the Fleet & Combat Guide.

How many galaxies are there?

Nine. The universe spans 9 galaxies × 499 systems × 15 planet positions = 67,365 possible planet slots.

Is there an alliance system?

Yes. Join or found alliances, set diplomacy (NAP, Allied, War), coordinate multi-fleet attacks and dominate the rankings as a unified force. See the Alliance Guide.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Browser-based, works on mobile. Check your empire, queue builds, and launch fleets from your phone.

What is a moon?

A moon can form by chance after a battle leaves a large enough debris field. Moons can host special buildings including the Phalanx Sensor, which lets you spy on incoming fleet movements anywhere in your galaxy. See the Moon Guide.
