$GLC Tokenomics Explained

A complete breakdown of $GLC's supply structure, launch mechanics, the burn model, and what drives token value. This page is for players and holders who want to understand the economic design behind Galactico's Solana token.

Supply

Total supply: 1,000,000,000 $GLC (one billion tokens). This is fixed and immutable — the Pump.fun launch contract cannot mint additional tokens. There will never be more than 1 billion $GLC in existence.

Circulating supply: decreases over time as tokens are burned through marketplace activity (see Burn Mechanic below).

Launch mechanics — Pump.fun fair launch

$GLC launched on Pump.fun, Solana's fair-launch launchpad. The key properties of this launch:

No presale: tokens were not sold to anyone before the public launch. No private investors, no seed round, no whitelist.

No team allocation: the Galactico development team received no reserved $GLC. Every token in existence was available to the public from launch.

Bonding curve: tokens launched on a price curve — early buyers paid lower prices, later buyers paid more as demand increased. This is automatic and transparent.

Graduation: when $GLC reached approximately $69,000 market cap on the bonding curve, it automatically graduated to PumpSwap. At graduation, the liquidity is locked — the development team cannot withdraw it.

Locked liquidity: the SOL raised during bonding curve trading is locked in the PumpSwap liquidity pool. This prevents a "rug pull" — the team cannot drain the trading liquidity.

The burn mechanic

Every transaction on the Galactico Open Marketplace carries a 5% fee. This fee is split:

What burning means: burned $GLC is sent to a provably inaccessible address — a "dead wallet" from which tokens can never be retrieved. The total supply permanently decreases. Every marketplace transaction makes every remaining $GLC slightly scarcer.

The deflationary loop: more players trading on the marketplace → more fees collected → more $GLC burned → reduced circulating supply → same demand across fewer tokens.

What drives $GLC value

$GLC is a utility token — its value is backed by actual in-game demand, not pure speculation. The value drivers:

Marketplace demand: to buy a Genesis Planet or a named Dreadnought from another player, you need $GLC. Growing player base → growing marketplace volume → growing demand for $GLC.

Scarcity mechanics: the burn model means supply decreases as the game grows. Fixed supply + growing demand + shrinking circulating supply is the basic value equation.

Game activity: Galactico is a live, working game — not a whitepaper. Active players generating real marketplace transactions create real demand. This distinguishes $GLC from tokens attached to games that don't exist yet.

Staking: $GLC holders can stake tokens to earn a portion of marketplace fees, creating a holding incentive beyond pure price speculation.
