$GLC Token Guide

$GLC is Galactico's on-chain token on Solana — the economic layer that lets you truly own what you earn in the Frontier Wars universe. This guide explains what $GLC is, how it differs from Star Dust, how the dual-currency economy works, and how to get started.

The dual-currency model

Galactico runs on two currencies that serve different purposes:

Star Dust is the soft, in-game currency. You earn it by playing — completing missions, winning battles, climbing the rankings. You spend it on everyday upgrades, boosts, and items in the in-game shop. It lives entirely off-chain: no wallet required, instant to spend, zero transaction fees.

$GLC is the hard, on-chain token on Solana. It's the currency of the open marketplace — where rare, verifiably owned assets like Genesis Planets, named capital ships, and Founders Passes are traded between commanders. $GLC transactions happen on-chain, which means true ownership: your assets live in your Solana wallet, not just in a game database that could be reset.

The key relationship: you can play the entire game and progress fully using only Star Dust. $GLC is the layer you opt into when you want to trade rare on-chain assets, hold a position in the game's economy, or participate in the marketplace.

What $GLC is used for

Open Marketplace trading: rare, on-chain game assets are priced and traded in $GLC. When you sell a Genesis Planet or a named Dreadnought to another commander, the settlement happens in $GLC. The buyer pays, the seller receives, and the marketplace takes a small fee (a portion of which is burned permanently).

Burn mechanic: every open marketplace transaction carries a 5% fee. A share of that fee is burned — permanently removed from the $GLC supply. The more the marketplace is used, the scarcer $GLC becomes. This is deflationary by design: growing game activity shrinks the circulating supply.

Holding: $GLC is a Solana token tradable on Pump.fun and PumpSwap. You can buy, sell or hold it at any time, independent of in-game activity.

What on-chain assets exist

The Open Marketplace features assets that are minted as on-chain tokens and live in your Solana wallet:

These are distinct from standard game ships and buildings, which remain in the normal game economy and are purchased with Star Dust.

Fair launch — no presale, no team allocation

$GLC launched on Pump.fun — a fair-launch Solana launchpad. This means:

This structure means $GLC's price is determined entirely by market demand — not by insiders selling a reserved allocation.

How to get $GLC

You can buy $GLC on Pump.fun or PumpSwap with SOL. See the step-by-step How to Buy $GLC Guide for the complete walkthrough including wallet setup.
